Trying to find the right words today is not easy.
You were a hell of a hockey player but itโ€™s the person Johnny that always is going to be with me, one of my closest friends, it didnโ€™t matter if we hadnโ€™t spoken in a day or a week we always knew where we had each other!

The definitive Johnny Gaudreau forever young hockey moment. 12 years ago. He's 18 years old. Ices the 2012 NCAA Championship game. Comically quick feet, hands, and brain. His comp for me was always Allen Iverson--I covered both in college. Impossibly small and skinny (JG MIGHT beโ€ฆ pic.twitter.com/dMe7WY2gtZ

One of the wildest sports atmospheres Iโ€™ve ever witnessed in person in my life was being in Calgary when Johnny Gaudreau sent the Flames to the second round in overtime of Game 7. He had that entire building, and city, rocking. pic.twitter.com/ujAGsUFgUb

Just spoke with former Boston College coach Jerry York who coached Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau.

York said the Gaudreau family was so dedicated that they traveled to nearly every home game to support those two.

โ€œThey were such good kids who grew up into outstanding young men.โ€

And it was so befitting of someone who was a wonderful reflection of what is good about this sport.

From #mnwild coach John Hynes on the loss of Johnny Gaudreau, whom Hynes coached many times including the World Championship in May: โ€œI am sick to my stomach. I had the opportunity to coach Johnny several times with USA Hockey. Johnny was a great kid, personable, had a big heart,โ€ฆ
